Chantell and I grew up together so I was thrilled when she wanted me to do her portraits with her siblings. It's been quite a few years since I'd seen them, but the same smiles I remember shone through in these photos. :)

Wedding Prep
Photographers are usually invited to come start shooting before the big event actually even starts. That's because the big day starts early! Half the fun of a wedding is the dressing up, pampering, spending time with close friend and family and prepping for the huge party.
Here are a few from the Barbosa wedding:

Cornett & Coyne Family Portraits
I love family portraits.
One of the things I've learned in the past few years is that you never know how long you will have your family. It's a lesson many have to learn too soon, too young. For me family photos are a way of remembering and treasuring those you no longer have next to you. It doesn't bring them home, but it can warm the empty spot left behind.
I also love how they capture the passing of time and the change in seasons. Marriage, birth, graduation, all meant to take place in the context of family. From tiny fingers and toes to flowers and rings, family is intermingled in it all.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting the Cornett & Coyne families. Aren't these little boys just edible! Thank you Krista for the fun shoot and many referrals! :) You can check out Krista's handmade jewelry site.

E Session with Mike and Danielle
We had our first engagement session of the 2010 wedding season a few weeks back, and if it's any indication of the year to come - this 2010 is going to be FUN! :D
Lindsay and I mostly tried to stay out of the way as these two brought the creativity and energy to our shoot! And can you believe that this was in November? California fall is a dream come true for couples who want their photos at the beach.

Thankful.
This Thanksgiving we were blessed to be able to spend it with John's family. One of the best things about visiting is getting to hang out with these bundles of fun :)
